New Years Eve Make Up Picks.

Wednesday, 30 December 2015

We are almost into 2016, I cant believe it! This year didn't go too fast but the christmas period zoomed by and with that gone it is time to look forward to new year! I don't actually have any NYE plans but if I did this would be the make up that I would reach for... planning my make up for a night out that isn't going to happen, logic.

I decided to go with the Smashbox #Shapematters palette to fill in my eyebrows, highlight and contour..well, I try my best to make my potato head look more shapely. For the eyes I went with Max Factor White Satin all over the lid as the base, topping it up with Max Factor Creme Champagne. Then adding, Smashbox Stripped (beige) to the crease and a tiny bit of Sumatra (dark brown) to the outer corners. To put that into simpler terms, a brown smoky eye phaha! I tried this look the other day and it was super easy, and that's coming from some one who is rubbish at make up. I cant finish an eye with out a feline flick, using my fave L'Oreal Super Liner. I was going to finish off the look with a dark lip but sometimes that can be too much maintenance for a night out, so I went with Avon Toasted Rose - a purple/mauve colour. A natural but chic make up look to celebrate the new year.
Do you have any new years eve plans?

Autumn Lippies.

Wednesday, 30 September 2015
I thought seen as I have done my Autumn essentials I should just do a little Autumn series(yep, that's how much I love it). So today I am going to nag on about Autumn lippies.

Of course, you've got your berry lip which is just a must have! You can get dark lipsticks everywhere now a days but I still always reach for my good old Astor shade. I have had this for sooo long now, which is a bit minging, but I cannot part with it.
When I want something that is a bit more of a nude shade I go to my trusty Soap & Glory lippy in the shade Blush pink (matte). It is more of a purple/pinky shade but it matches my natural lip colour pretty well. Keeping on the Soap & Glory theme I also love the shade Pom Pom, which is like a darkish berry/pink. I got this a while back when Beauty Crush mentioned it in one of her videos.
To top my Autumnal collection off I thought that I should add a brown. I don't have a clue where I got this one from as the packaging has worn but I do know that it is in the shade Fiction. It is a brown colour with purple under tones.

These are my go to lipsticks for this season, what are yours?

My Autumn Essentials.

Wednesday, 23 September 2015
Autumn is hereee! It's my favourite season ever. All of the leaves are turning orange & falling, the mornings are frosty, Halloween is close (yaaas) AND the jumpers are making an appearance once again, woo! I am not a summer gal at all, I enjoy it for a week or so then I just miss wrapping up in baggy clothes and thick blanket scarves.
So, as Autumn will be in full swing soon enough I thought I would put together some Autumn fashion essentials.

Scarves
Blanket scarves are the way to go when it's a bit chilly outside. I also think scarves are a good way to add a bit of colour into the outfit if you're more of a basic outfit gal.

The Coat
Everybody needs a good statement coat. Not just a parka that you can throw on when it's blowing gales and raining, which is 90% of the time, but a classic statement piece. This year I have gone for a trench coat kinda thing. I love the length, fit, colour, shape, basically everything about it!

Jumpers
It's just common sense to wear a jumper when it's cold innet? The kind with the chunky roll necks that hit just above the knees are the way forward. Or just a simple round neck if you're not into the whole 'stiff neck' look.

Mustard
Mustard is going to be my favourite colour for Autumn. I bought a new mustard jumper a couple of days ago and I feel like the colour suits my skin tone (pale, ha). I know it's a love or a hate colour but it just screams Autumn, you can't deny it.

Dark Lips
Dark lips, what else is there to say? I reckon that dark lipsticks are one of the first things we reach for when Autumn comes around.

Boots
Obvs the boots will be coming out, you can't really wear sandals if it's freezing out side can ya... well you can but it's not very smart. I will always stick to a classic chelsea boot, but the docs do make an appearance now and again.

I could probably go on forever but I think I'll stop there. Let me know your Autumn must haves! Also, sorry for saying the word Autumn a lot. I said it so much that it started to sound weird and I couldn't spell it properly, haa.

What Is In My Bag.

Sunday, 13 September 2015
I have never done a 'what's in my bag' post so I thought it was about time I did.

I try to keep as little as possible in my bag so it doesn't become too heavy, but that clearly wasn't the case today *face palms*. When I use a smaller bag, like the one I have been using recently, I like to carry a card holder and some change instead of my massive purse. Then I have the little useless bits like multiple kerby grips, a bobble, a trolley coin, a pen and of course empty chewing gum packets and receipts (probably from buying food or things I don't need). Another little thing I like to add is a perfume sample. I am forever forgetting to put perfume on so this is definitely a life saver.

Oh, and I have my glasses in there, you know to help me see lol. Then I usually have my lipstick of the day. I have been going with this browny shade more or less everyday, I just loves it. Such an autumnal colour too!

And this is the star of the show, the bag that holds everything. I love this bag and believe it or not it was only £7 from Primark. I have really been liking Primarks Autumn/Winter collection recently. Plus autumn is my fave season...because I can eat what I want and hide it with layers, mwhahaha!

5 Disappointing Products.

Sunday, 24 May 2015
I am always talking about how much i like all of the products i use so i thought i would have a little moan (haha!) about some products that i didn't really get along with.

Rimmel Scandaleyes
I bought this Rimmel liner because of the felt tip concept... I thought it might have made my eyeliner look neater but i was sooo wrong. When i applied the product it dragged along my eye lid. Once i did manage to add the product it was grey and not the jet black i wanted. I left it for a few weeks and went back to it again, trying to find a way to work with it. When i went to use it again it had pretty much dried up. I don't know if i had picked up a faulty one (if that is possible?) but this product didn't work for me at all.

Revlon Colourburst
This product was a massive disappointment for me! As you will have seen in my lipstick favorites (here) the Revlon colourburst crayon (in striking spectaculaire) is my favorite red, so when i saw this i fell in love with the colour and i thought the formula would have been the same. When i applied this on my lips it was just moving around and caking up, it felt horrible! It's such a shame because i really love the colour.

Bonjour Nail Enamel
Again, like the lippy above, i had used this product in different colours before and loved the result. When i went to apply this polish it was almost clear. I applied around 4-5 coats of it, making sure each coat was dry before i added the next layer, but for some reason it went very tacky. When it did finally dry i went to bed thinking i would have woken up with fresh nails. Instead i woke up with hair imprints and chips on every nail.

Lipcote
I actually bought this product around the time i got the Revlon crayon, thinking that some how this would help application. When i painted a coat of this onto my lips it was pretty painful. It really tingled. Not the kind of lip plumping tingle but a sharp prickling kind. I tried using this a few more times (with different lipsticks) but not only was the prickling uncomfortable, it didn't keep my lipstick any longer.

MUA Luxe London
This is probably the biggest disappointment of all, the MUA matte lip thingy...whatever it is meant to be. I thought this was going to be like the lip lacquers you see beauty gurus applying on Instagram and YouTube! It was a lot cheaper too so i thought i was onto a winner. I went to use it and it was cloggy and sticky! There's not much more to say about it. Maybe it was the colour that affected the formula i am not too sure.

Even though these products didn't work for me they might work for other people. This is just my opinions on them!

Do you own any products that you found disappointing?

My Top 4 Lipsticks For Spring/Summer.

Friday, 10 April 2015
Today i thought i would share my 4 favorite lipsticks to wear for spring, moving into summer.

From left to right:

L'oreal Paris - Tempting Lilac
This is the shade i wear the most, as you can see from the size of the bullet! It is a natural looking lipstick but as the name suggests it is a lilac colour with a pinky under tone. It is really glossy but its not sticky or heavy on the lips which is always good for a hot summers day.

Soap & Glory - Blush Pink
Blush pink is my all time favorite matte lipstick. It kinda reminds me of a 'Kylie Jenner' colour...matte, nude and super light to wear! Shade wise it is more or less the same as the L'oreal one above, but the Soap & Glory one is matte, therefore longer lasting.

Revlon - Tutti Frutti
The name of this Revlon shade screams summer! It is a lovely, glossy, orange shade that i wear almost as much as the L'oreal one. I especially like to wear it when i have a bit of a tan. I love orange lipsticks but am i yet to find a matte one that isn't too heavy on the lips.

Revlon - Striking Spectaculaire
I never used to wear reds in spring/summer as i always thought of them as a winter shade but when i found this matte lip balm i was converted. This tone of red, with its slight orange undertones, is so bright it almost looks luminous (which i love). Another thing i love about this is the minty taste it adds to your lips on application.
