Mini Movie No1 - Stormy Night.

Thursday, 9 June 2016

We had one of our first Summer storms the other night. There is something relaxing about them, I think its because it cools down, the plants instantly become green and lively again and the sound of heavy rain is so calming. Anyway, I thought I'd film a few snippets of my night and share it in the form of a 'Mini Movie'.

Enjoy!

Sweet Mango & Falafel Wraps.

Friday, 3 June 2016

Right, so I am still getting to grips with my new laptop and some where along the way I managed to delete a few blog posts. I've had my little strop (mwhaha) and now I am ready to re-write them. So on with the post!
A while ago I bought this mango, salad, falafel wrap thing from Tesco, and it was the best thing I had ever eaten...well, the best wrap I had ever eaten. I decided to recreate something similar and it turned out amazing!

To make it you will need:
-Wraps
-Peppery rocket
-Falafels (sweet potato or spinach ones, whichever you prefer)
-Mango chutney
-A pinch of pepper

First, I just throw (not literally) the falafels into the oven. I like these ones, you just put them into the oven for 18 minutes on fan 180°C, gas 6 or 200°C depending on what kind of oven you have. Easy peasy!

Whilst the falafels are cooking I like to prep my wrap. I place a handful of washed, peppery rocket onto the centre of the wrap, adding a generous helping of tangy mango chutney and a sprinkle of crushed pepper.

When the falafels are a dark, golden brown colour I tear them in half adding them to the pre-prepared wrap.
Simply fold, serve and enjoy! I am going to be honest, they don't really look like much but they taste delish!

Summer Essentials: Fashion.

Monday, 23 May 2016

So its Summer essentials time again! This time I thought I would separate this post in to 3 categories; fashion, beauty & food. So, to kick it off I thought I would share my fashion must haves!

The first being, white tops. In summer I live in white tops! I swap my thick, woollen knits for cool white basics. I recently picked this flared sleeved top from Next. I hadn't been into Next for agesss but I popped in recently and found this gem for just £22, bargain!

Another love are Birkenstocks. I had the cheapy ones from Primark last year and I lived in them! So, I thought that I would invest in some proper ones this year. I picked up these ones from TK Maxx for £30 (well, I had a £15 gift card too so technically I got them for £15!!).

And finally... sunnies. I have a decent collection of glasses now (you can see a few of them in my old sunglasses collection) but these have to be my favourites. I got them from a vintage shop in London for just a fiver. They fit my face really well and the shape is super flattering.

What are your summer go to's?

Currently Loving: Culotte/Wide Leg Jumpsuits.

Sunday, 15 May 2016

I am currently loving culotte jumpsuits. I find them really comfortable, easy to throw on and flattering on my body which are my musts for a Summer outfit.

The first culottes jumpsuit is from New Look. I got this a few weeks back, but its still available here (was £22, now £13!!). I first saw this on their Instagram and instantly fell in love with the wide leg and dark floral. I've not figured out what kind of shoes I'd wear with it yet, so if you have any suggestions please let me know!

The second pair are from Primark. I was actually really surprised to find something like this in Primark, I love the stuff they have in at the mo! Anyways, this was just £15 and although I look like a human cactus/gardener in it I am going to be wearing it a lot this Summer.

Do you like the culottes trend?

Sunglasses Collection 2015.

Tuesday, 30 June 2015
The weather has been amazing here recently, well as amazing as it is going to get. So i decided to throw together a quick post about my sunglasses collection. I have a bunch of old and new pairs so i thought i would share them.

The black round pair are my most recent purchase. I got them from Primark for £1, bargain! They are actually a really nice size, not too big and not too small (which is actually really good because i have a pretty big head).
I did also buy another pair of glasses from H&M but i seem to have misplaced them... no surprise there!
The next two pairs i got are from Asos (Blue lens ones and the smaller round ones). I got them in winter when they flog all of their summer stuff off for cheap. You can tell these are a little bit more expensive than the Primark ones but i suppose you get what you pay for.
Next are the cat eye-ish ones i got from H&M last summer. I love the way these ones frame my face. I also love the little gold detail on the top edges.
Last but not least are the oldest pair i own. I got them from Asda like 3 years ago and they are still going strong. They are also really good quality for the price!

My collection is tiny compared to some people but i would really like to add a designer pair to the bunch. Maybe the new Dior ones...

Bell Sleeve Lovin'

Tuesday, 2 June 2015
I am trying to transition into my summer wardrobe at the minute (even though it is currently raining and blowing gales here) and a bell sleeve top is deffo going to be a staple for me. As i have purchased a few i thought i would show you my fave ones!

New Look
Pattern - I love an item with a bold pattern for summer. I usually wear black, white or grey so an item like this is really out of my comfort zone. I paired this with some black jeans and black chunky sandals...i have to have some element of black clothing, haha! To be honest i would prefer this tee with a more dramatic bell sleeve but i still love wearing it nonetheless.

H&M
Simple - This is the most recent item i have purchased so it should still be available. I really like the slightly larger sleeves with the crochet detail on this piece, i feel like a wizard-hippie when i wear it! I love how simplistic it is too. I have been wearing this with leggings and blue jeans but i think it would look really nice with some patterned trousers and sandals.

Glamorous
Detail - This piece is the most comfortable of them all. It is extremely loose fitting which is ideal for summer. As the sleeve detail can be pretty in your face i think this tee would look nice dressed down with some 'mom jeans' and some converse. It would also look nice slung over a bikini/swim suit as cover up.

To finish my collection i want a really dramatic bell sleeve top so i can swish around in the sunshine, if it ever arrives!

Summer Essentials 2015.

Monday, 18 May 2015
Spring is in full force now, even though we still have many days of wind and rain (that's the UK for ya!). So, i thought i would would show you the things i reach for in spring and (mainly) summer.

(This picture was taken last year and the sandals look just as new now!)

FASHION
At this time of the year i like to wear sandal which are a bit more covered up, simply because it isn't extremely warm yet. The ones above were from primark last year, they are still going strong! Next is a good pair of sunnies. I usually just get a cheap pair but this year i wanted something a bit more expensive looking so i went for some Asos ones, i look a bit like John Lennon in them but i like them so who cares!

ENTERTAINMENT
In spring and summer i always find the time to read. Relaxing in the garden with a book in one hand a cold drink in the other is one of the things i love to do. Currently i am reading paper towns By John Green (Just to see what all the hype is about).

BEAUTY
Moisturizing is a big thing for me in the warmer months. My skin tends to get a bit sun burnt leading to flaky skin, usually on my nose (It looks nasty!). For this i use the Garnier matte moisture. I also reach for a tinted moisturizer for if the tan isn't doing so well. I have a post on it here. I also like to carry a lip balm around with me for if my lips get dry, i am using the Maybelline baby lips one at the moment in pink punch.
As for scents, Marc Jacobs have the best floral fragrances. I am loving the honey perfume, it is floral with a honey tone to it but it does smell very sophisticated.
And as for nails the only colour i will reach for is Barry M's bright orange! I think it complements a tan and is one of my fave colours.

Finally, i always have a fat cat near by who loves posing and sunbathing!

Asos Wish List: Festival Edition.

Tuesday, 12 May 2015
I was browsing on the Asos website (like usual) and i noticed that they had a lot of festival/boho inspired pieces. This is the style of clothing i reach for in spring/summer because of all of the chilled, relaxed and baggy clothing. Sadly, i am not going to any festivals this year but i thought i would create some boho/festival inspired looks. A few of the items are from the tall range (i am like 5'10 and jeans and dresses tend to be a tad short for me from the normal range) but i am sure you will be able to get them from the other size ranges.

LOOK ONE
ALL IMAGES ARE FROM THE ASOS WEBSITE.
JEANS - Asos TALL Ridley High Waist Skinny Jeans In Wyona Wash With Ripped Knee (£32)
TOP - Asos TALL Off Shoulder Top in Horizontal Stripe (£20)
SANDALS - Asos Funnel Web Leather Gladiator Tie Leg Sandals (£22)
CROWN - Rock 'N Rose Martha Floral Hair Crown (£38)
BAG - Asos Mini Suede Festival Fringed Backpack (£35)
TATTOO - Paperself Rosy & Daisy Bracelet Tattoos (£6)
Look one is something i would wear during the day. Its the kind of outfit i'd wear if it wasn't so warm but it was still a pleasant day. I am not the biggest fan of getting my legs out so in summer. I do tend to stick to trousers, jeans, midi skirts but i will push to a dress if it is realllllly hot. The off the shoulder top gives this outfit a really feminine look along with the floral crown and flower tattoo. I think the blue floral tattoo is a good alternative to the foil ones everyone wears to festivals. I also got a really lovely necklace (here) and i think the different shade of the blue in the stone would go really well with this look.

LOOK TWO
ALL IMAGES ARE FROM THE ASOS WEBSITE.
DRESS - Asos TALL Off Shoulder Swing Dress in Paisley Print (£28)
HAT - Catarzi Wide Brim Fedora in Camel (£35)
BOOTS - Asos Reema Pointed Chelsea Leather Ankle Boots (£45)
SOCKS - Asos Over The Knee Socks (£5)
NECKLACE - Asos Pyramid Choker And Multirow Charm Necklace (£15)
TATTOO - Orelia Chain Temporary Metallic Tattoos (£8)
Look two is the kind of look i love but i am not too sure if i could get away with it because of the leg situation. Anyway i really love the off the shoulder thing (as you can tell), i have been seeing it everywhere! I have been on the hunt for a fedora hat and found this beautiful Catarzi one but sadly it is kinda pricey. And finally a true festival look would not be complete without a ton of jewellery and foil tattoos.
