New Years Eve Make Up Picks.

Wednesday 30 December 2015

We are almost into 2016, I cant believe it! This year didn't go too fast but the christmas period zoomed by and with that gone it is time to look forward to new year! I don't actually have any NYE plans but if I did this would be the make up that I would reach for... planning my make up for a night out that isn't going to happen, logic.

I decided to go with the Smashbox #Shapematters palette to fill in my eyebrows, highlight and contour..well, I try my best to make my potato head look more shapely. For the eyes I went with Max Factor White Satin all over the lid as the base, topping it up with Max Factor Creme Champagne. Then adding, Smashbox Stripped (beige) to the crease and a tiny bit of Sumatra (dark brown) to the outer corners. To put that into simpler terms, a brown smoky eye phaha! I tried this look the other day and it was super easy, and that's coming from some one who is rubbish at make up. I cant finish an eye with out a feline flick, using my fave L'Oreal Super Liner. I was going to finish off the look with a dark lip but sometimes that can be too much maintenance for a night out, so I went with Avon Toasted Rose - a purple/mauve colour. A natural but chic make up look to celebrate the new year.
Do you have any new years eve plans?

3...December(ish) Favourites.

Monday 21 December 2015

I know this is a tad early for a December favourites but I had a few items that I wanted to share with you. The first being sleeveless jumpers, yes you're probably thinking 'what is the point in a sleeveless jumper?' paired with a long sleeved top underneath it makes the perfect combo. I love the look of them and they are super easy to throw on with leggings or jeans. The top two are from Primark but my favourite one, which is in the wash, is from H&M. The other fashion item I have been loving is my grey blanket scarf. Again it is from Primark and it was only £7! I am loving Primark at the minute... I always prefer their A/W things to their S/S collections.

My last fave is this eye shadow duo. I bought the Mac Bronze from a beauty shop, which sells discounted Mac products. I loved the colour but when I applied it to the eye it just didn't settle and it felt sticky. I went back on the hunt for a copper eye shadow and came across Mac coppering when I was at the Trafford. I fell in love with the bright red/orange copper. When I applied them together it was the exact look I was going for and I have been wearing it ever since.
Those are my *very early* December favourites, what are yours?

Christmas Wrapping Ideas.

Friday 11 December 2015

As I am writing this we are almost two weeks into December! whaaaat?! The christmas decs are up, most of the presents have been bought and the baileys are flowing! Today I thought I would share a few of my tips to dress up your christmas wrapping.

The paper - The paper you use doesn't have to be christmas paper, I got this lovely blue and white print paper from Asda for just £1. It kinda looks christmasy but its not your traditional bright green and red vintage looking paper.

The string - I do not think a present is complete without a bow. I didn't want to use ribbon as you never really get much on a roll and it can be pricey in the end. This year I decided to go with garden twine, I picked up mine from HomeBase for like £2.

The details -  I love adding little details to the presents I have lovingly wrapped. Last year I went with little paper fawns and golden bells. This year I thought I would add these little clay disks I made agesss ago, just to add a chic touch.

(The best bit) Chocolateee - Everybody loves a bit of chocolate so I always like to add some in somewhere. For my nephews and nieces presents I placed some little pudding chocolates into individual bags and tided them onto their presents. Its a really cheap way to dress up a gift. I also added candy canes, obvs.

How do you dress up your christmas wrapping?

Christmas Decorations 2015.

Sunday 6 December 2015

I don't know about you, but my Christmas decs went up on the 30th of November ready for the beginning of December... I would have put them up way sooner if I would had the time.
Anyway, I thought it was about time I showed you them.

had collected an array of red, white and kitsch looking individual decorations over the past couple of years. A lot of them where from last year, when I raided the christmas aisles on christmas eve to get some of the discounted decs. I collect a few individual decorations every year so when I get my own house/flat and get a massive REAL Christmas tree (my dad refuses to get a real one) I will have more than enough to decorate it with.

Besides the discounted ones, I have picked up a few from the church Christmas fairs my village holds and collected some which had been passed down.

A lot of people don't really decorate their room for Christmas but I love too. I spend a good amount of time in my bedroom so why not decorate it according to the seasons!
How do you like to decorate at christmas?

3...Lush Bubble Bars.

Wednesday 2 December 2015

I've noticed that I like to pair things into 3's... It sounds weird but it did lead to a blog post idea! So, I thought I would start with 3 of my favourite Lush bubble bars.

The first bubble bar, which unfortunately is a seasonal one, is 'Sparkly Pumpkin' (I can only find it on the US site). I tried this for the first time this year and I really enjoyed it. Although it looks scarily glittery (try saying that 3 times fast!) it does not appear like that in the water. It smells so fruity and warming, its great for a cosy winter warming bath.

Next is one I have mentioned before and one that everyone loves, 'The Comforter'If you are a newbie to Lush I would deffo recommend this bubble bar to get you started. Just try it, you will not be disappointed!

And the final one out of the three is 'Creamy Candy'. If you like super sweet and bubble gum fragrances this is the one for you. It is sickly sweet but I love it and the smell lingers on the skin for a good while after your bath.

I love the Lush bubble bars, they are so moisturising and great for a relaxing bath. What is your favourite Lush bubble bar?

My Favourite Bloggers.

Thursday 26 November 2015
I am running low on blog post ideas (yes, again!) so I thought I would have a little chat about my fave bloggers, and a few youtubers.

The Michalaks - My all time fave youtubers at the minute! I love settling down every Sunday with a cuppa in one hand and my IPad in my other, watching their weekly vlogs full of adventures in London. Everything they film is amazing quality and so lovely to watch.

Kate La Vie (previously Ghost parties) - Kate's blog inspired me to make my own, probably like many others. From the writing to the pictures, everything is set out beautifully.

Sammi (The beauty crush) - I've been watching Sammi for ages, I love her evolving style and the content on her blog has been amazing recently!

The ugly face of beauty - I have been watching Gracie's videos for a while but I am really loving the inspirational and the foodie blog posts she is creating at the moment. Oh, and I love keeping up with her vlogs.

Its another girls life - I found Mary through Gracie's channel. She's so funny and I absolutely love her style. Deffo watch her car vlogs, they are so funny!

Who is your favourite blogger/youtuber?

The Body Shop Tea Tree Collection (REVIEW)

Wednesday 18 November 2015
It's been well over a month now so I thought it was about time that I updated you on my experience with the Tea Tree collection from The Body Shop. I first wrote about this collection when I was suffering from really painful spots, mainly on the big ol' forehead. As well as spots my skin looked shallow and dull, I just basically wanted an all rounder product and this is what I was recommended.

I wish I had taken before and after pictures but too be honest I don't see a massive difference. My mum and my sister have noticed that I haven't been getting as many spots. This is true, I haven't, but the ones I have been getting have still been pretty big and painful. I've started getting the odd one or two on my cheeks which I have never had before. Although it hasn't massively affected my spots the overall look of my skin has improved a decent amount! My skin feels sooo much softer and I think it looks a lot brighter too.

I also love the feeling of washing, toning and moisturising my face. It's like you can feel your pours being cleaned out (that sounds horrible doesn't it? haha!). I think my favourite product is the toner, it just gives you the super clean feeling.
So, would I recommend this product? Yeah I would, it has improved my skin in some aspects. I think things work differently on different skin types, it just either works for you or it doesn't.

My Top 4 Blushers.

Monday 2 November 2015

So, it is actually November now! Where has the time gone?! I hope everyone had a good Halloween and is now getting into the Christmas spirit (too early? I think not!). Today I thought I would yap on about my favourite blushers. I used to love the stuff in school (which was quite unfortunate as I constantly looked embarrassed/boiling hot) but then it was just like I had forgotten all about them. Recently I've been wanting to change up my basic everyday make up look, so I dived into my make-up box to rediscover my old blushes and these were my favourite 4.

Natural Collections Pink Cloud  was my love when I was at school. I went out and repurchased it a couple of weeks back and remembered how much I loved it. It gives the perfect pinky glow, and at £1.99 its a barg! Sticking with the pinky tones I am really liking Sleeks Rose Gold. If you're into sparkly blushes this is the one for you. It is a 'traditional' pink shade with golden flecks, its kinda like a blush and highlighter in one. You have to be really light handed with the Sleek blushers because they are super pigmented. On the other end of the Sleek spectrum is Flushed. I love this dark shade for the colder months as it gives a lovely rosey glow. Its matte too so if you're not into glittery blushers this would most likely be a winner. And finally is Clarins Soft Peach. This is called the illuminating blush and I think I would agree. It is almost like a highlight on me, probably because I am pale, but this is the one I have been reaching for the most lately!

Those are my top 4 blushers, what are yours?

I got Tumblr! Well, I've had it for a while and just never used it aha, lets see if I stick to it this time!

DIY Zombie Bite.

Thursday 29 October 2015

At the weekend my sister bought some liquid latex, fake blood and face paints for her costume on Saturday (Halloween). Of course I was the one who was expected to do it for her, but I don't mind because I like doing things like that anyway. I wanted to have a practice before the actual day and this is what I come up with. This was my first go at a 'zombie bite' so it is not prefect and I am no special effects pro.

I used:
-Liquid latex
-Cotton wool
-Purple eye shadow
-Black eye shadow
-Green face paint
-White face paint
-Fake blood
-Foundation
-2 old brushed
Everything was purchased from Wilkos for like a £1 each and the eye shadows and brushes are just old ones.

So, first add some white paint onto the area you want the bite to be. Then using your finger dab on the purple eye shadow, then using a tissue dab on the green paint in small patches (use a light hand). Now you have the bruise we can move onto the bite itself. Paint on a layer of latex in a wide U shape and add the cotton wool, adding more latex ontop of that. Once you have the shape add little dints on the inside where the teeth would be. Then just repeat that on the other side.

Whilst that is drying you could add some more little veins using the green and purple. When that is dry add some foundation to give it a flesh colour, then add the purple and green on top so it looks bruised like the skin around it. Next, using the black eye shadow darken up the small teeth marks. Now we can move onto the fake blood adding it heavily to the teeth marks then brushing it out into the middle. Once that is complete its just a case of adding to it with blood, eye shadow and paint...layering is key!
I probably haven't explained it very well but you can see what I mean from the pictures, its just all about trail and error really! I hope you enjoyed this DIY. What are you being for Halloween?!

My Scary Netflix Favourites.

Monday 26 October 2015
It saddens me to say this but my sister has deleted her Netfilx account (which I secretly used). It may be a blessing in disguise actually because I will start getting things done now aha. Anyway, with it coming up to Halloween (I am SO excited!) I thought I would share some of my scary faves from Netflix. I've only recently got into the whole scary movie thing, so these are my favourites...so far!

American Horror Story is obviously going to be mentioned as it is my all time favourite programme! I have recently just finished Freak Show, it was pretty good but Coven is still my favourite I think. Its not really a 'scary' series, its more of a gruesome horror kind of thing but I still love it. I love the way they use the same cast to play different characters in different season too, although I reckon I am going to miss Jessica Lange in the new Hotel.

Onto a proper scary film. I watched Insidious with my friend a while back and it was one of those films that I didn't really want to watch but when it started I just couldn't stop. I quite enjoyed it but I know people have mixed feelings about it haha.

Carrie is the most recent one I have watched. I have actually wanted to watch this one for a while but just never got round to it. So, whilst I was at my mums we decided to watch it and I really liked it. It was pretty gory and quite sad to be honest. I really want to watch the original one now, but I do recommend the new one!

And finally I have got to throw an old school programme into the mix. I loved Goosebumps when I was younger and now I am lucky enough to have a nephew that loves it as much as I did. Its more of a kids scary programme but I still love it!
So, those are my Netflix picks, what are yours?

The Worlds Worst Blogger...

Thursday 22 October 2015
I am probably over reacting in the title but I reckon I have been the worlds worst blogger recently (can I even call myself a blogger? I don't see myself as one, I just do this for a bit of fun and to make myself feel like I am actually achieving something with my life aha). Anyway, I have been super busy recently! I went to London, helped a friend out with a costume she had to create, it was my friends birthday, a few friends were back from uni and of course I decided to change my bedroom around again didn't I (it's still not finished PHA). So yeah, I've been a busy bee. Also, with it being Autumn now and the early nights drawing in it has been pretty difficult to get some decent light in my room to take pictures.
One thing I have been keeping up with is my Instagram! I am proper into it at the moment, I just like taking pictures of random crap I suppose.

Oh, just one more thing...I need some new post ideas! My mind has been at a blank for the last couple of weeks so any ideas of posts you would like to see are truly welcome. Let me know what you lot have been up to recently too, I'd love to know!

How To Style House Plants.

Wednesday 7 October 2015
Everybody is loving plants, cacti & succulents at the moment, I am not going to lie...I have kind of been obsessing over them too! I have like 16 different little species (all in individual pots) in my tiny room and I have been trying to figure out different ways to style them. I've come up with 3 simple ways and so I thought I would share!

Stack, stack & stack
Stacking plants on book, trays or anything you can get your hands on is a good way to add height and different levels, whether it is on a desk, table or shelf. I got this tree plant from Ikea for £1 and the pot for 50p. If you're looking for some cheap greenery Ikea is definitely the way forward, but I am sure everyone knows that!

Pair them up
I was getting bored of my little cacti being in individual pots so I decided to pot a few together. I added some pebbles to the bottom of the pot for drainage, added some soil and popped the cacti in, topping them up with a bit more soil. This is a good way to save some room for more cacti, yay! And they look cute together!

Hang em
I love the harnesses you can get to hang plants but they can be pretty expensive, so I
made my own! I did a post on it ageeeees ago, I'll link it here. Again this is a good way to
save some room.

I think the next kind I want are the little air plants, they are really unique. If you have anymore ideas on how to style cacti and plants, let me know. I am always looking for different ways to style them in my room.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Collection.

Sunday 4 October 2015
For the past couple of months I have been suffering from really painful spots on my chin, forehead and nose. I have zero amount of knowledge about skin types and all that jazz so my sister ended up taking me into The Body Shop and asking one of the ladies who worked there for some advice. Straight away she took me to the tea tree range, and explained the benefits of it. So, this is what I ended up purchasing.

The first thing she handed me was the Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Wash. She told me to simply wash my face with this morning and night. I tried it for the first time last week and my god, my face has never felt so fresh. It is hard to explain but its like your face feels really cold and clean.

She then showed me the Tea Tree Toner, she explained how this gets rid of all traces of make up and makes the skin spotlessly clean. I used this before the facial wash and after, just to make sure everything is off.

And finally I got the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion. I add a pea sized amount and rub it into my skin, avoiding the eyes. Again this gives the cool, refreshing feeling to the skin.

She said the skin regenerated every 28 days so I reckon I will report back in a month or so to see if it really has worked! Have you ever tried The Body Shop Tea Tree range?

Autumn Lippies.

Wednesday 30 September 2015
I thought seen as I have done my Autumn essentials I should just do a little Autumn series(yep, that's how much I love it). So today I am going to nag on about Autumn lippies.

Of course, you've got your berry lip which is just a must have! You can get dark lipsticks everywhere now a days but I still always reach for my good old Astor shade. I have had this for sooo long now, which is a bit minging, but I cannot part with it.
When I want something that is a bit more of a nude shade I go to my trusty Soap & Glory lippy in the shade Blush pink (matte). It is more of a purple/pinky shade but it matches my natural lip colour pretty well. Keeping on the Soap & Glory theme I also love the shade Pom Pom, which is like a darkish berry/pink. I got this a while back when Beauty Crush mentioned it in one of her videos.
To top my Autumnal collection off I thought that I should add a brown. I don't have a clue where I got this one from as the packaging has worn but I do know that it is in the shade Fiction. It is a brown colour with purple under tones.

These are my go to lipsticks for this season, what are yours?

My Autumn Essentials.

Wednesday 23 September 2015
Autumn is hereee! It's my favourite season ever. All of the leaves are turning orange & falling, the mornings are frosty, Halloween is close (yaaas) AND the jumpers are making an appearance once again, woo! I am not a summer gal at all, I enjoy it for a week or so then I just miss wrapping up in baggy clothes and thick blanket scarves.
So, as Autumn will be in full swing soon enough I thought I would put together some Autumn fashion essentials.

Scarves
Blanket scarves are the way to go when it's a bit chilly outside. I also think scarves are a good way to add a bit of colour into the outfit if you're more of a basic outfit gal.

The Coat
Everybody needs a good statement coat. Not just a parka that you can throw on when it's blowing gales and raining, which is 90% of the time, but a classic statement piece. This year I have gone for a trench coat kinda thing. I love the length, fit, colour, shape, basically everything about it!

Jumpers
It's just common sense to wear a jumper when it's cold innet? The kind with the chunky roll necks that hit just above the knees are the way forward. Or just a simple round neck if you're not into the whole 'stiff neck' look.

Mustard
Mustard is going to be my favourite colour for Autumn. I bought a new mustard jumper a couple of days ago and I feel like the colour suits my skin tone (pale, ha). I know it's a love or a hate colour but it just screams Autumn, you can't deny it.

Dark Lips
Dark lips, what else is there to say? I reckon that dark lipsticks are one of the first things we reach for when Autumn comes around.

Boots
Obvs the boots will be coming out, you can't really wear sandals if it's freezing out side can ya... well you can but it's not very smart. I will always stick to a classic chelsea boot, but the docs do make an appearance now and again.

I could probably go on forever but I think I'll stop there. Let me know your Autumn must haves! Also, sorry for saying the word Autumn a lot. I said it so much that it started to sound weird and I couldn't spell it properly, haa.
